This whole thing actually started on Myspace. Funny, I know, but it's true. August 31, 2007 was my first post. I just talked about my day to day or whatever was on my mind. One year and thirty-six posts later, I decided I could do this blogging thing for real.
Unscripted, like all aspects of my life, is a work in progress. Originally started as a way to inform distant relatives and friends about the daily happenings of our life, it slowly progressed into a place I can be myself. Here I can recount my failures and triumphs as a stay-at-home mom; share my creativity as photographer, scrapbooker and writer; document the challenges of having a child with severe food allergies; and express my joy and struggles as a wife.
My goal is to be honest and authentic. I think it was put best when a friend told me I say and write the things that everyone else thinks and feels, but is afraid to say.
My passion for photography began in my childhood. Always with my camera, experimenting with perspective and subject matter. It grew over the years and now with one BFA degree and more jobs than I'd like to count under my belt, I still carry a camera with me everywhere. Like AMEX I never leave home without it. Only now my subject matter are my kids, and as predicted they LOVE being in front of the camera. It's like that shirt I bought my son when he was a year old that said, "the paparazzi just won't leave me alone."
It's not perfect, but it's my life, totally unscripted, and I wouldn't change it for anything.
*When I am not writing about my own life here at Unscripted, you can find me writing about my experiences of motherhood; giving tips, crafting tutorials, reviewing products, and sharing recipes over at A Mom Knows.
I am loving your blog! I don't pretend to be anyone important here in this endless community of Mommy Bloggers of which we are a part, but I will say that I don't partake in the button exchange program, in general. I only add the ones I'd actually recommend. lol. Long story short - I put yours in my "Blogs I dig" section and would recommend your blog to anyone who enjoys Mommy's with attitude!
ReplyDeleteHave a good one. I'll be stalking - er, following - you from here on out. ;).
